Upbring working to raise $200,000 in the next 200 hours
to help more than 350 families facing post-hurricane challenges
Austin, Texas – September 1, 2017 – Upbring, one of Texas’ largest foster care and adoption service providers, and those we serve are in need of immediate assistance.
Following the devastating impacts of Hurricane Harvey and the flooding that has affected millions of Texans, Upbring is poised to help Texas families rebuild their lives. There is an opportunity for the public to help quickly and directly.
Hurricane Harvey impacted more than 350 families that Upbring serves, with many more at risk as floodwaters and storm-related effects linger. Upbring is making an appeal to Texans across the state to provide funds—every contribution makes a difference—to assist Texas families from a number of communities affected by Hurricane Harvey.
As Upbring CEO Dr. Kurt Senske put it: “The sun is returning to Southeast Texas, the waters are starting to recede in many places, but we’re just beginning to get a picture of how great the needs are of our fellow Texans. Families are in need of everything you can imagine: clean water, food, safe shelter, dry clothing, shoes and socks, first aid kits, pillows, sheets, blankets, transportation, access to medical care, and gift cards to apply toward everyday items and urgently needed supplies. The time to help our Texas families is now.”
Upbring is kicking off a campaign to raise $200,000 in the next 200 hours. 100 percent of the funds raised will go directly toward helping families Upbring serves that have been adversely affected by Hurricane Harvey.
Upbring urgently requests that anyone interested in participating please send a generous gift today. To donate, go to Upbring Disaster Response Giving.
