Upbring BeREAL, and the Dept. of Family and Protective Services’ (DFPS) Preparation for Adult living (PAL) program, both work toward the same goal — helping older youth in foster care transition from DFPS care and support them on the road to independence and a successful adulthood.
Last week, five Upbring BeREAL residents were happily surprised when brand new Dell laptops — courtesy of the PAL program — arrived at their BeREAL apartments. The computers will be used for a variety of school and work related activities, including job searches.
Having their own computer is a great convenience — previously our residents had to share with their roommate or complete their computer work at school or the library. Computers are especially appreciated by our young moms who plan to take online classes and need reliable equipment.
Thanks to the PAL program for this perfect donation — our BeREAL residents are so grateful!
