Upbring BeREAL Austin welcomes Abby Estrada – a third-year clinical student completing her master’s level fieldwork from The University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work – as the program’s first intern. Through mid-August, Abby will empower BeREAL residents to transition into successful, independent members of our community by providing case management, transition planning and life skills development.
“I’m so excited to be working with Upbring BeREAL Austin for my master’s in Social Work final internship,” said Abby. “I’m interested in mentoring for post-secondary goals, providing therapeutic support and working one-on-one with BeREAL youth.” Abby’s previous experience includes working with children and adolescents in school settings and at various nonprofits. Her passion is for serving youth and young adults.
Abby said she can’t wait to work with the residents and the staff of BeREAL – and we can’t wait for her to start! We are happy to have her on our team and grateful for our partnership with the UT-School of Social Work and the UT Office of Field Education.
