For the first time ever, girls from Upbring New Life and Krause Children’s Centers got the opportunity to play an all-Upbring basketball game at the New Life campus in Canyon Lake, thanks to the coordination efforts of Victoria Davis, New Life’s Recreation Coordinator.
Sports fans who attended the event – all devoted to helping the girls discover special interests and talents that foster a healthy, healing environment – included other residents, staff and a few family members.
A cheer team from New Life provided the halftime entertainment and both teams were presented with trophies. The final score:
New Life 4
Afterward, players and fans were treated to a brisket lunch and enjoyed the opportunity to continue to spend leisure time together. Because both centers had such a great time, they’re already making plans to engage in other friendly sports competitions in the future!
