They really know how to welcome folks in Aggieland! LSS opened its newest office in Bryan/College Station on June 15th and marked the big event with an open house and dedication. The B/CS Chamber of Commerce arrived in force and performed the traditional ribbon-cutting to make it official. Forty-three people celebrated the new foster care and adoption agency, and got acquainted with the three women who will be recruiting and matching families, and working to change the lives of the area’s children in need. In the trenches in B/CS are (l to r) family services worker Melissa Shelton, area director Kimberly Greene, and program sec Terry Hernandez.
Dr. Kurt Senske, CEO of LSS, introduced the staff and familiarized the group with LSS’s history of children’s services in Texas. Rev. Craig Borchardt, president & CEO of Hospice Brazos Valley, gave the invocation and rite of dedication, and Chamber president and CEO Royce Hickman presided over the ceremony and shared a personal story of how one foster family had a huge impact.
