Cypress, Texas – June 26, 2017 – Upbring, one of Texas’ leading children’s services providers, will host its annual Upbring Golf Houston fundraiser today at BlackHorse Golf Club, 12205 Fry Road in Cypress, TX at 8 a.m. Proceeds from the 18-hole, four-person scramble benefit the life-giving services delivered at Upbring Krause Children’s Center in Katy, Texas.
Krause is a residential treatment center for girls between the ages of 12 and 17. Many of the girls who call Krause home suffer from childhood trauma, often the result of severe abuse and neglect.
“Many of these amazing girls have been continuously pushed down by the adults responsible for raising them,” Dr. Kurt Senske, CEO of Upbring, said. “They need a champion to lift them up, to show them they are wanted, loved and treasured. Because of the generous businesses, donors and volunteers who support this critical fundraiser, Krause can continue to be a safe place for these brave girls to not only heal but also grow and thrive.”
At Krause, the girls benefit from in-depth clinical therapy, therapeutic recreation activities, personal development opportunities, spiritual care and education through an on-site Trinity Charter School. Girls stay at Krause an average of six months. Surrounded by compassionate therapists, direct-care staff and volunteers, the girls start to build a sense of hope for brighter futures.
The Upbring Golf Houston fundraiser has garnered support from Houston-area businesses such as Function 4 (title sponsor), Curtis Steel Company (gold sponsor), Holiday World (titanium sponsor), Don McGill Toyota of Katy (titanium sponsor) and Katy Lifestyle Chiropractic (titanium sponsor).
