Upbring Early Head Start Services to Continue in Bexar County

Austin, TX June 17, 2020 – Upbring, a Texas-based nonprofit, has been awarded a grant through The Office of Head Start, through the Designation Renewal System (DRS), to provide Early Head Start services within Bexar county effective July 1, 2020.

Upbring, which has served Bexar county since 2001 through its Foster In Texas program has been providing Head Start services in Texas since 2015. Through this grant, the nonprofit will offer an Early Head Start program to 88 children in Bexar County.

“Upbring will work with the prior provider to ensure a seamless transition and continuity of services,” said Dr. Andrew Benscoter, Chief Education and Growth Officer at Upbring.  “We’re excited to partner with the local community agencies in order to provide our students and parents with a high quality education and resources,” Benscoter said.

Within the next few weeks, Upbring will notify all current Early Head Start families that have received past services from the former grant recipient regarding next steps in this transition.
