C. Edward (Ed) Keller, chief operating officer of the Beaumont Foundation of America (BFA), paid the LSS Austin home office a visit recently to present a check that will provide school clothing for the hundreds of children LSS serves in foster care and in its residential treatment centers in Texas.
Many children arrive at our foster homes with all their worldly belongings in a trash bag. Being able to select their own new clothes is an important first step in beginning their new life and creating an identity of their own.
Since its creation in 2001, the Beaumont Foundation has provided grants and scholarships to a broad range of nonprofit organizations across the United States. The mission of BFA is to enrich the lives and enhance the futures of less fortunate children and youth, families, and the elderly with a focus on improving education, health care, and social services.
This is the fifth year BFA has generously funded clothing for our children.
