It was a dark and stormy night … No, actually, it was a cold November day, when more than 40 employees from BP-Energy came out to play with the kids at Krause Children’s Center for a “Fall Fun Day.”
Reminiscent of a classic school “field day,” (remember the wheelbarrow race? the egg & spoon race? the bean bag toss?) the Krause Fun Day also included a bungee bouncer, puzzle in a hay stack game, soccer ball target game, and ongoing basket ball competitions.
The big hit was the ever-popular dunk tank. BP executives were the dunkees on this blustery day in Katy: Dawn, who wore her wet suit, snorkel and mask; Steve who went in fully clothed; and Mitchell, who the girls just could not seem to dunk enough. As it turned out, the Krause kids were really good shots and dunkers, and the BP victims were excellent sports, even as they submerged into the frigid waters. Brrrr.
BP employees also got a chance to dunk their executives. They paid $25 for three throws, and alas, they also turned out to be darn good shots.
The Krause kids had a great time. They were plied with candy, cotton candy, popcorn, candy, pizza, candy, and more candy. Their troubled and complicated pasts never allowed much time and opportunity to just goof around and be kids. A big shout-out to BP for hosting this super fun day at Krause.
Anyone up for a sack race or water balloon toss?
