Lee Ruth Krieg, community volunteer par excellence and member of the LSS Board of Directors, has been selected for the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Girl Scouts of Texas/Oklahoma Plains. Krieg will be honored at the 2013 Women of Distinction Event at the McInturff Conference Center in Lubbock on April 2, 2013.
Ms. Krieg, who joined our board in 2010, has been active in numerous volunteer roles in the Lubbock area, and over the years has been an active volunteer involved in the local LSS ministries: Neighborhood House, Health for Friends Clinic, Wedgewood South Assisted Living, and the LSS Advisory Board. She has served as president of American Lutheran Church Women, president of the Volunteer Network of the Lutheran Home of West Texas, and chair of the Lubbock Branch of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Krieg has a history of leadership with the Caprock Girl Scout Council and Texas Girl Scout Legislative Cabinet. She served the PTA in many capacities as a parent volunteer for 14 years.
The Women of Distinction Event distinguishes leaders like Krieg who have made a real impact and enhanced the quality of life of others in their communities. The energy and leadership she brings to the LSS Spring Fling fundraiser – which will be held April 19th and is now in its 22nd year – has helped make this event an annual success. Spring Fling helps fund our vital services on the South Plains: Neighborhood House, Health for Friends Clinic, Foster In Texas, and Wedgewood South Assisted Living.
Congratulations to Lee Ruth Krieg on an honor that is well deserved!
