We want to let everyone know that LSS Disaster Response is in the process of responding to the aftermath of yesterday’s devastating tornado that struck Moore and other towns in Oklahoma, resulting in tragic loss of life, widespread property damage, and seemingly destroyed lives. Many of you have asked us how you can help.
As there is no statewide Lutheran ministry organization in Oklahoma, LSSDR will be working with local Lutheran Church bodies in coordination with our national partner Lutheran Disaster Response (LDR) and LCMS Disaster Response who have appealed to our organization and our donors to assist in raising funds for those affected. By all preliminary assessments, the needs will be great.
Not forgotten are the victims of the tornadoes that struck the Granbury township and several surrounding areas southwest of Dallas-Fort Worth last week, also resulting in loss of life and destroyed homes. The impact to the lives of those people cannot be measured and will not be overlooked.
At this time, emergency first responders continue to be active in search and rescue efforts in the immediate area of Moore, OK. We are monitoring the situation and will provide additional help at the appropriate time.
Currently we are accepting monetary contributions to help victims with immediate needs such as food, clothing, and shelter.

- Spiritual/Emotional Care
As the specific needs of these devastated communities become known over the next hours and days, we will be there to assist and bring help, healing and hope to those impacted.
We ask for your ongoing prayers for the people touched by these horrific tornadoes in Texas and Oklahoma and for your continued support. We will post more information as it becomes available.
