The heat and humidity didn’t dampen their spirits as more than 130 golfers turned out to play for a purpose on Monday, June 17th. The golfers and another 50 volunteers and spectators participated in our Houston Golf tournament, held at BlackHorse Golf Club in Cypress. This was the 24th annual golf tourney in the Houston area to benefit Krause Children’s Center in Katy.
This year’s title sponsor, BP North American Gas & Power Unit, has long been a loyal and generous supporter of the Krause Center. They contributed $20,000 this year alone, and the company regularly brings volunteer teams to perform substantial maintenance projects for the Center. Thanks to generous sponsors like BP-NAGP, every penny raised by our golfers goes to benefit the children! A big thank-you to all the FIT and Krause supporters who attended—to see photos, check them out here [Pictured at left are Orlando Alvarez, CEO BP Energy Company, and Kurt Senske, CEO of LSS]
About Krause Children’s Center
Krause currently serves up to 60 boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 17. These residents have experienced severe trauma and abuse in their past. Krause is a place for them to heal and get their young lives on track. The state of Texas has designated these children as in need of “specialized and intensive” care.
