We have so many great volunteers who give their time and love to New Life. And we don’t want to show favoritism or anything … but there is one faithful New Life friend who has been a regular for two years and truly deserves a special shout-out.
Richard Ellis, who just celebrated his 90th birthday, makes beautiful jewelry for the girls at New Life. When he visits us he brings along a bag of necklaces, earrings, pendants, and bracelets to the delight of the staff and the lucky recipients who take their new jewelry with them when they leave the Center.
It’s always a special day when we see Richard coming. He charms us with his smile, good nature, and sense of humor. The office staff at New Life recently applauded his latest accomplishment – the successful renewal of his driver’s license on his 90th birthday. Richard’s regular visits to New Life would be difficult if he wasn’t able to drive from his home in Canyon Lake.
Here’s to many more years and visits from our favorite jewelry-maker, Richard Ellis!
