As part of Humana House at New Life Children’s Center, the Martin Instrument Suite will allow families to stay on-site while visiting troubled children in treatment.
LSS has been selected as the recipient of a nearly $50,000 charitable gift from Martin Instrument, a local, family-owned provider of precision layout tools and solutions.
“LSS is honored to be selected for this generous gift and excited about the major opportunity to extend our mission of addressing multi-generational child abuse,” said Dr. Kurt Senske, CEO of LSS. “It is well documented that victims of abuse often become abusers themselves. Our New Life Children’s Center is a place where this negative pattern can be addressed and the healing can begin.”
As one of three finalists, LSS was chosen based on its proposal to build the Martin Instrument Suite as part of Humana House at the New Life Children’s Center in Canyon Lake, Texas.
“We found LSS’s ability to effect and interact with troubled girls in our community inspiring,” said Gina Richardson, Co-founder of Martin Instrument. “LSS has the capacity to reach out to these young girls in a positive manner, thereby repairing broken homes and broken hearts. We are all excited at the opportunity to work with LSS in helping create a solid structure and foundation for families in Texas.”
Comprising one of two apartments within Humana House, the Martin Instrument Suite will be a crucial part of a multi-purposed residential building for families visiting their children at New Life. This project will enable longer visits by these families and allow them to participate more in their child’s treatment—improving the chances of success and for future reunification.
