Each quarter, we take time to acknowledge someone in our Foster Care department who has done an outstanding job, and has been recommended by a peer, to receive the STAR Award. The good news is, we never run out of people to tip our hats to. The bad news is, we have to choose from so many well-qualified individuals! This last quarter, Jeri Grey, secretary for the Fort Worth office, received the STAR Award.
Below is the nomination that helped her win the coveted honor:
“Jeri has proven to be an asset to LSS. Jeri completes all assigned job duties and tasks without hesitation. Jeri is able to organize her work day and is both effective and efficient in completing her job duties. Jeri has been asked to help train other secretaries across the state, and has done so without hesitation. Jeri takes pride in the work she completes and strives to achieve perfection. Jeri has completed job duties that have historically not been completed by secretaries. Jeri has worked very hard to help the Mineral Wells/Fort Worth office achieve near 100% compliance in files, and maintain compliance. Jeri goes above and beyond. Examples of this would include her ability to assist the AD with the training section in all files. Jeri has helped ensure that all Minimum Standards and Contract requirements are met when trainings are completed. Jeri ensures that no training is logged on the training log, or placed in the file until it is reviewed for compliance. Other duties completed by Jeri on a daily basis include maintaining a due date matrix spreadsheet to assist the FSW’s in remembering due dates, as well as assisting the AD in ensuring files are in compliance. The AD is able to look at a glance and note compliance on things such as trainings, health and fire inspections, vaccinations, driving records, criminal background checks and auto insurance. In summary, Jeri is a hard worker and is very dedicated to the mission, values and vision of LSS.”
