Knox Kimberly - Senior Vice President - Advocacy and Stakeholder RelationsAs Senior Vice President of Advocacy & Stakeholder Relations of Upbring, Knox Kimberly leads advocacy and key stakeholder engagement efforts, working with a strong and dedicated group of advocates and stakeholders benefiting Texas children, youth and families. Knox also oversees Upbring’s community programs, Neighborhood House and Health for Friends Clinic, and LSS Disaster Response.

In 2014, Knox joined Upbring where he continues to cultivate a strong suite of advocacy partnerships unique among Texas service providers. Knox has also successfully positioned Upbring as a trusted policy voice during the 2015, 2017 and 2019 (86th Legislative Report) sessions of the Texas Legislature. With thought leaders like Knox, considerable progress has been made through smart policies, advanced by more than $1 billion in targeted investment. His extensive knowledge coupled with his commitment to Texas children has played an instrumental role in changing the many lives served through Upbring’s programs.

Prior to Upbring, Knox had a distinguished career in law, advocacy and public service that included a stint as a Senior Staff Member for John McCain. Taking his career to Texas in the direction of servant leadership, Knox now serves as Chair of the Steering Committee for the Texas Child Protection Roundtable, a collaboration of more than fifty organizations engaged in advocating for the best interests of children and youth in Texas; a member of the Board of Directors for Texans Care for Children, the state’s leading multi-disciplinary advocacy organization for children; a member of the Advocacy Task Force for Lutheran Services in America; and a member of the Texas Supreme Court Permanent Commission on Children, Youth and Families Collaborative Council.

Knox earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Arizona State University, Juris Doctorate and Master of Arts in Economics degrees from UCLA, and a post-graduate law degree from the University of Exeter, England. He and his wife, Debbie, Vice President of Customer Energy Solutions for Austin Energy, live in Austin and have two adult children, Thomas and Megan. Outside of the office, Knox and Debbie enjoy sharing their passion for international travel, politics, sports and wine.
