Lucy is a bright 9-year-old girl who lives with a foster family in Eastern Europe, where she has lived for almost 5 years, whom she calls “Uncle” and “Aunt.” Previously, she was raised by her biological family where she was extremely neglected before social services took her and placed her in foster care.
Physically well developed for her age, Lucy does have some speech and developmental delays. Lucy goes to school and her foster parents accompanying her there. She works with a resource teacher to develop skills and habits. Lucy is not aggressive; her classmates have accepted her and she has adapted well to school.
She loves music, watching children’s movies, and playing with dolls. She lives in a house where, during the holidays, she plays all day with the pets. Lucy enjoys when others pay attention to her and she loves to be hugged and embraced.
Lucy says she is waiting for “the good mama, who will come and take her home.”
