Autumn – who suffered abuse so severe it left her legally blind in one eye – could have run from her problems. Instead, she was one of the first to join the running club at Upbring New Life Children’s Center for stress relief, to overcome anxiety and rebuild self-esteem.
“There’s always a choice to run,” says Autumn. “But it starts with the effort and the thought to finish. So when I’m running, I think about the finishing line how proud I’ll be of myself that I finished a 5K.”
Autumn, along with New Life, is running towards a much larger goal: breaking the cycle of child abuse. You can empower children, families and communities by making a gift that will support them every step of the way.
