Shawn & Hannah

We’ve been married for more than four years and have been busy over the last year setting up our house in anticipation of adopting our first child.

Shawn moved to Texas in 2008 from a small village in the English countryside. Hannah was born and raised in Texas, living in the lone star state her entire life.

Shawn works as a project manager at an IT company where he has been employed for six years. His hobbies include anything mechanical, be it tinkering with one of his motorcycles or working under the bonnet (hood) of a car. If not smeared with engine oil, you can usually find him out in the garden or woodworking in the garage, building something new for the house.

Hannah works in a bookstore coffee shop and is also attending school to be a paralegal. In her down time she loves to knit, draw, and paint, selling any extra works through her online shop. If she’s not busy crafting you’ll usually see her with a nose in a book and drinking a cup of coffee in her home library.

Together, we spend our days outside digging in the garden, playing board games or taking advantage of the great Texas weather by grilling outside with our friends and being active in our local church. At the end of the day, we’ll be curled up on the couch reading, watching a movie or playing video games. We love to travel and return to England to visit family and friends as often as possible. If we’re not in the mood for an 11 hour flight, however, we also enjoy road tripping our way around the States.

We believe that a strong education is a priority in raising a child. Shawn has a fascination with global history and, having grown up in England, would love to take our future children to visit different countries, historical landmarks and museums. Hannah, having being raised in a homeschool family, is excited to take advantage of some of our local Montessori schools and homeschool co/ops.

We are thrilled to be on this journey together and cannot wait to begin our family by means of adoption!
