My name is Maria! My loving, little family lives in Central Texas. We are close with our neighbors and church, and we feel so blessed to be in this little corner of the world. We think it’s a great place to be a kid! We work and go to school in the city so we can take advantage of the educational opportunities there. We think we have the best of both worlds! My son and I have a close parent-child relationship. Our home is a place of love and laughter. Together we enjoy swimming, riding bikes, playing soccer, reading and watching movies. We are an active family, but we also enjoy our quiet time together!
I am a teacher for students with visual impairments and multiple disabilities. I LOVE what I do and am so honored to be able to serve these children and families. I have been so blessed in my life to work in a close community of exceptionally loving people; many of my co-workers are my closest friends. I am graduating with a master’s degree in educational leadership in May. I have school holidays and summer vacations off with my son. The time-off we spend together is always filled with fun and excitement. Our family has a large support system made up of family and friends. Maria’s parents live across the country, but are SO excited to welcome a new grandchild!
My son spends his time between school, friends and fun! He enjoys school and is an honor roll student. He enjoys spending time with his mom, playing video games, reading, sleeping late and playing with his cat, Ziggy. He has dreams of becoming a scientist, astronaut, brain surgeon or veterinarian. He is smart, funny, shy, active and sweet. He looks forward to being a loving, fun and protective older brother.
We are so excited to go on this adoption journey! I want you to know that you are supported and valued. I have spent my life supporting children and families through life’s many challenges, and I KNOW that God is with us in the storm. We are praying for you. We also want you to know that your child will be treasured, cherished and held close to our hearts forever. May God’s peace be with you!
