Moderate Mental Disability;
Atypical Autism; Speech delays
Cora is a giggly 10-year-old girl from Eastern Europe. She currently lives with a foster family.
Cora is developing appropriately physically for her age but has experienced some mental delays. She has not developed her speech and rarely makes eye contact. She can feed herself. Cora was diagnosed with atypical autism in 2017 and was later diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia.
Cora has a contagious smile and loves to laugh. She runs, climbs and is an active child. Cora enjoys the extra attention she receives from her foster parents.
Cora is physically healthy. She eats well, and her weight and height are catching up with the standards for her age. She has some developmental delays that her foster parents attribute to early neglect and lack of stimulation. Cora has difficulty pronouncing some words and her learning is below the norm for her age.
