Harmony

Special needs: blind (due to congenital eye anomalies) and has congenital anomalies syndrome mainly affecting the facial area, agenesis of the corpus callosum, colpocephaly and delayed motor development.

Harmony is a radiant, bright and sunny child. She expresses her emotions with vocalization. She repeats syllables: “ba-ba”; “ma ma”; “la-la” and others. She enjoys tactile contact. She smiles while playing with friends and caretakers.

Harmony sits independently and stands with the help of an adult or while holding onto support. She can take steps while holding onto support and she pushes her walker with help and guidance by an adult. She is visually impaired. She can hold toys handed to her by an adult and she enjoys studying the objects with her hands. She has delayed neuro-psychological development. When she gets upset, she self-harms.

The swinging horse is her favorite toy to play with. She jogs with pleasure and stops sometimes to clap her hands with enjoyment.

When frustrated she expresses her discontent. She can tell differences in tone of voice and reacts with a smile when she’s calm. Harmony is fed with a spoon by an adult and drinks from a cup held by an adult.

Because we only have this child’s file for a short time, she will not be able to receive donations until a family is found for her.
