Alex is a physically healthy 10-year-old boy who lives in a group home for children in Eastern Europe. He likes robotics, technical devices and soccer – and he loves his younger sister, Alice, who he has a strong bond with!
Alex is in the third grade, and he is doing better in school. He has some behavioral problems, but they are improving significantly. Alex asked to get a bike, and the people at the group home promised him one if he improves his behavior. He now has a bike and is very proud of it.
When asked what he knows about America, Alex said that it is a country with a lot of states.
The children do not have a television in the group home, because the caregivers encourage their creativity and imagination. In school, children study English, and Alex takes lessons from a U.S. citizen who lives nearby. He knows basic words, and he can quickly learn the language with the right motivation.
