Mary is a beautiful, giggly 8-year-old girl who lives with a foster family in Eastern Europe.
Mary is not able to walk alone, but she is very active indeed. She runs around the house with a walker and wants to explore everything. With help, she could go up and down the stairs.
Mary is in first grade in the school for special needs children. She works with a resource teacher to develop skills and habits. She likes to go to school, where she is very quiet and well-behaved child. She likes music classes; she enjoys listening to music, and she is trying to dance.
The child performs simple and complex tasks. She understands simple orders like “give me,’ “take it,” “sit down,” “lay down” and “open.” She is able to pronounce simple words and syllables such as “ma-ma,” “grandma” and “sister.” She is trying to imitate the sounds of the animals and to copy what the other children are doing.
Mary is eating with a spoon by herself and drinking from a cup with a little help from adults.
She likes when others pay attention to her. Mary loves to be hugged and embraced.
