About us

A message from our campus administrator,

Welcome to Upbring School of Discovery and Leadership (USDL) – Downtown Houston!  I am excited and privileged to serve as the campus administrator, and I look forward to meeting you.

Our school is located in the heart of downtown Houston, where there is a rich historical appreciation for the arts, science, technology, math and engineering.

Our curriculum integrates a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) emphasis through discovery and exploration while implementing a strong, values-driven atmosphere where children learn and grow as Christian leaders.

Our goal is to champion children to be all they can be and equip them to be faith-filled, confident and innovative leaders in tomorrow’s world.

I have deeply-rooted experience in Christian education; I am a firm believer that a faith-based foundation is key.

I grew up in a small town in Illinois, went to college in Chicago, and then moved to San Antonio. For the past 30 years, I have been a first grade teacher, kindergarten teacher, and a school administrator working with extended care programs and family ministry.

I have also served as an early childhood director managing more than 60 staff and encouraging more than 250 young children to learn all they can learn and be the best God made them to be.

I have a bachelor’s in elementary education and a master’s in early childhood education, as well as a wealth of leadership experience to round out my resume.

God blessed me and my husband Greg with two children. Our oldest, Gretchen, works in Houston at the Marriott Marquis. Our son, Andrew, is a junior at TCU in Fort Worth, where he is pursuing a secondary education degree.

Please visit our USDL campus anytime. We welcome city-dwellers and commuters alike.  Our trained teachers and degreed educators are well equipped to provide an outstanding environment for growing and learning.

Beginning January 1, 2018, we will offer programming for infants through PK4.  During fall 2018, we will open our first kindergarten class, with grades 1-5 to follow.

In Christ,

Kathy Entzenberger
Campus Administrator
